RULING EMOTIONS

I've heard many versions of these sayings 'Don't Allow Your Emotions To Determine Your Choices' and 'Don't Allow Your Emotions To Rule You'. And I have to disagree, the fact of the matter is without emotion you are numb and basically lifeless. Emotion drives everything from success or failure, love or dislike, to joy or sadness, and etc. If You are tired of a situation and arent driven by emotion to change it then how do You know You are tired? Being tired is an emotion, a feeling, a state of mind and I would either have to be fed up or ready for something new to change my situation and both are caused by my emotions towards it. Im not saying things cant change without the effort of the individual, I'm saying when human efforts are needed then they are  driven mostly by emotion. Now I do believe You should pray about any and all situations, but then they say wait on God, huh? What if God allows those emotions of anger, sadness, happiness and joy to motivate you to move forward and make a change? You must feel something inside that warrants Your decision making. The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had to feel some type of emotion to drive him to fight, suffer and die for our Civil Rights and equality. And I wouldnt be where I am, good or bad, if my emotions didnt somehow fuel my decision making. The trick is to make the right decision but then again even the wrong decision can turn into a blessing. Jmt~LTJ

LIVE FOR THE SAKE OF LIFE

In this life You must remember Your book has been written. God already knows what You are going through, what You are going to do, and what You are doing right now. We carry so much weight with worry, sorrow, dissapointment, failures, stress, anger and sadness, We forget Our Burden Bearer, Our Savior,  Our Lifeline. We put so much confidence in each other, the Pastor, the church, Ourselves but fail to trust the One whom gave His life to save Ours. Our failures strengthen Us, Our mistakes broaden Us, We were born in sin but God provided Us a way out. Don't allow the enemy use the fact that We are human to destroy You. Only one perfect man walked this Earth and that was God Himself. Allow Him to change what's in You that's not of Him. In the meanwhile Live! I'm not saying sin for the hell of it, I'm saying live for the sake of Life. Jmt -LTJ

THE SAD REALITY OF BEING BLACK IN AMERICA

After today's events I realized that there is still a long way to go. The nuckel heads showed thier ass and all of us had to reap what they sowed. The police showed up and showed out not even willing to take in account that we had nothing to do with what went on. But because of another's sin we all was grouped in because of the skin we wore. In front of my kids, I had to explain that there is a division and told them not be wary. I told them to do as they say and don't give then any reason cause things could  become very scary.  I explained the difference in society and encourage them to have pride in, the men that they will surely become. And I also explained that much hasn't changed so be careful of those among them. I told them that those in blue are there to protect and serve you, but there are some and many more than one that are only serving to hurt you. Be mindful of what you say, and do not play with those that the law says are above you. They hope you will bend and be too weak to defend even though they know they shouldve excused you. Be careful of what you do because they or the media will use it to condemn you. It's a sad reality when you have to build their mentality to keep them safe in  these streets. Not only the racism but also the hatism, is the truth I have to teach. And each night I lay and kneel down and pray that they practice what Mommie has preached! I pray to God that they will succeed despite the odds and see beyond the limits... that they will know to take God  everywhere they go and His spirit within them will give them strength to overcome this...
